wow. December has been one busy month so far, and we’re not even halfway through! i’ve had a million things going on and obviously blogging hasn’t been one of them…so heyyyy, friends. hope everyone is doing well and loving life.
there’s a reason everyone wants to visit NYC during the holiday season: December in NYC is, well, pretty darn magical. whether you’re 5 or 85, walking around all bundled up and catching all of the holiday displays, caroling, lights and overall feverish excitement pervading the air does wonders to put a girl in the holiday spirit. i know a lot of New Yorkers might claim to hate this touristy stuff, but especially during the holidays, i really enjoy it. some things never get old.
Rockefeller Center’s magnificent tree, holiday displays on 6th ave,
a harking herald singing, and Radio City Music Hall’s Christmas spectacular.
these are a few of my favorite Christmassy things…and always fun to take in when you have visitors in town. my lovely friend Avery came to visit me from Colorado last weekend, so it was the perfect opportunity to see the sights and spend time with one of my favorite forever friends.
you know those friends who just make your life a better place, and with whom you could probably spend every day of your life and never, ever grow tired of being around?
this girl is one of those. just two days with her reminded me how blessed i am with such an amazing friend.
hope everyone is having a happy December so far and filling up your time with people you love and fun places to go! i’ve been making my rounds through the holiday and charity party circuits, apparently as a poster child for chambray shirts aka my December uniform. some of us dress up for parties, and, well… some of us always wear denim.
i have a crazy affinity for button down shirts — plaid, chambray, flannel, bright colors, neutrals, you name it, i’ll wear it. i’ve been adding to the collection bit-by-bit and i think it’s safe to say that’ll be my #1 trend this season, more likely than not paired with thick, chunky scarves. a girl’s gotta stay warm!
