the busiest week everrrr

no, your eyes aren’t deceiving you — yes, i really am posting two days in a row! boom. totally not sure what’s gotten into me but i’m digging this lil burst of consistency here and hoping it means December is getting me into the spirit (or something like that? that expression just seems to fit for anything that happens in December so let’s roll with that).

meanwhile, please enjoy the view of a white December in upstate NY, aka my lovely life last weekend:

visitors welcome. as long as you’re cute and fun and want to play with me in the snow.

right, so, blogging. i think what happens is that i sometimes feel like i’m just not sure i have so much interesting stuff to say, and a blog needs to be interesting (right?!), so if i’m not super killing the running or taking these amazingly annoying workout selfies (sorry not sorry, this is a running/healthy living blog so you’re stuck with those!), that i just kinda fall by the wayside.

but really, i need to get over myself and just write write write, no matter what comes out, because that’s the whole point. and if some days all i have to post is lil note to tell you all how fabulous you are and how much i adore your faces, and then add a cute/funny/random picture i like, well, that’s what it is.

oh, and btw, since i didn’t run this morning, here’s a cute/funny/random picture i like:

photoOH and Luna is promoting its new gluten free flavors and we all can reap the benefits by receiving a freebie of their new Peanut Caramel Cluster flavor! yummm.

so now, let’s talk about the fact that i was fun last night, especially for a Monday! i met a friend at an awesome rooftop bar called Upstairs at the Kimberly Hotel in Midtown East. i’ve only been here during the summer before, when this place is guaranteed to be squashed beyond all squishing crowded any day after work. i much preferred it during the off-season, when it’s covered and quieter and cozy and quaint and so, so lovely.

they give you these darling little paper bags of popcorn (that was lightly garlicky), and i had an amazing rose that i must find again. i deem this the absolute perfect after-work place in the colder weather, to escape the crowds and get some lovely views of the city.

still considering that career change to an iPhone photographer, don’t you worry. portfolio available upon request.

this is going to be a crazy good and insanely busy week — here’s my lineup:

Tuesday (tonight): final grad class of the semester (woot!)
Wednesday: going away drinks for a co-worker and/or an after-work workout
Thursday: annual work holiday party (the biggest event i plan and work all year) followed by THIS exciting life event: going to see my new music obsesh w/ one of my besties at Terminal 5!

the-1975can.not.wait.for.this!
Friday: a friend’s annual charity holiday party — his fam owns a restaurant in NYC near Bloomingdales and he provides all food & drinks, and us lucky guests get in for the price of one toy, which all get donated to Toys for Tots. love this spin on a reason to celebrate the season.
Saturday: Christmas shopping and another girlfriend’s holiday party at night

tis the season to be SO BUSY! & lovin’ it.

Tell me something you’re looking forward to this week!
Any good Christmas parties coming up?
Current fave band?

  1. I am going to NYC tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lunch out, then have tix for If/Then followed by holiday window gawking with 5 friends (Mrs E is one of them, if we were staying longer, I’d tell you to meet us….next time)

  2. Bhahahahahahahaha I love that little graphic. That is awesome. And look at you, little social animal! I love going places off season–I don’t like people in general, so it works for me.

  3. Wow, it looks like that road is leading to Heaven. Such a beautiful winter wonderland. I want to go there. Popcorn and wine sounds like a typical Friday night for me. ☺ Upstairs sounds like my kinda place! It’s so fun to live vicariously through your city life. Hoping to make it to NYC in March!

  4. You make me want to be a real city girl! Looks like you have a fun week ahead. I am going to see Peter and the Starcatcher on Saturday – apparently it’s a prequel to Peter Pan and maybe get my first ski turns in on Sunday. It ain’t Manhattan though…..

  5. I get the same way about blogging, so my post today was a bit of a random “just write” moment! HA. I don’t really like snow…well, kinda, but that photo you have is gorgeous. I have a Christmas party for work next week and I AM SO EXCITED.

  6. Mouth … watering!!! That Luna Bar looks AMAZING annnnnd pure yum Shawna!!!! I must find it down here 🙂 And my current favorite band … hmmm … I’d have to say Fall Out Boy and their song “Centuries”. I’m playing that song to death right now haha! I think it as become my theme song for this half marathon training cycle by default lol 🙂

  7. I love when you write all of the time!! You are one of my faves so keep it up because I like hearing what you have to say 😉 And you’re such hot stuff so more selfies please and thanks!! Have a great week, love!!!

    • awww geeeezeee, girlfriend! if i was the blushing type, you’d totally have me blushing right now. 🙂 thanks for that darling lil ego boost, sweets. xo
