hi. i’m Shawna. i geek out about running.
sooo yeah, i’m stoked for NRD. i have plans to celebrate it by taking a running boot camp class after work today for the first time in ages, with my old trainer and workout crew. i’m such the solo runner by nature/habit, but i enjoy a good group workout or run with a friend when i can get it, so i’m really looking forward to this.
so let’s segue into my becoming-a-Wednesday-regular thing of itemizing the weekly workouts!
Monday: rest day (minus the daily bike ride to work). i ran outside Friday, Saturday & Sunday, so i took Monday off.
Tuesday: evening workout: a sweaty hot mess of an hour on the Arc trainer, followed by a half hour of abs, kettlebells and stretching.
Wednesday (today!): outdoor running boot camp after work tonight! woot!
Thursday: hopefully a short strength training sesh in the morning (have to be at work early tomorrow), followed by an outdoor run tomorrow evening
Friday: gym in the morning (Arc trainer + kettlebells + abs)
Saturday: outdoor morning long/longish run (always the workout i most anticipate)
Sunday: shorter morning run + abs, or else possibly an early yoga class, if i can find one. i need to start doing yoga!

So far, my favorite workout was this morning! Not only was it NRD, but it was rain free, AND I was up earlier than normal so it was TOTALLY peaceful : ) Hope you have fun at bootcamp tonight!

I ran 4 miles this morning, and proceeded to eat allthebread. Best way to celebrate running!
Spotify that ish. π And that is how I felt while I couldn’t run — that I was running but having to walk. No running for me today–NRD is always my rest day!

I had a good run for NRD, I planned to do 5 but ended up doing 7. So that’s always good π all runners are nerd :p
My favorite workout was on Monday with the jogger! Today is a rest day, despite it being in the midst of #Juneathon!
That gif is perfect. Hope you had a good time celebrating NRD yesterday. Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to get out and run (my body wouldn’t have it), but I did go for a 45 minute walk,,, the best I could do. π
total running geek for sure! favorite run: my Tuesday morning trail runs are fast becoming my favorite every week π But I need to find a new trail soon or I’ll get bored quickly of the same route!
Hope you had a fun time at your running boot camp! What exactly does that entail anyway (besides the running of course)? Is it a form of interval training? Or are you running an obstacle course? haha so curious π
